Steven Moffat revealed at a Doctor Who Press Conference on March 21st, 2012 that Coleman was going to play Matt Smith as the Doctor's companion after Karen Gillan, Arthur Darvill and other actors left the show. Moffat selected her for the role due to her ability to work well with Smith and was able to talk more quickly than Smith. Her most well-known work is her TV work than the film industry. Eva is well-known for her work as the character Dr. Maria Santos on All My Children and detective Natalia Boa Vistas on CSI Miami. In the latter, she even received two 'Daytime Emmy' nominations and gave her a chance to explore her creativity in music. Eva is not only an actress, she is as well a philanthropist and businesswoman. Three times married, she has one daughter and a second husband.
